The Findhorn Foundation Ecovillage Project - a pioneering Scottish ecovillage since 1985. Findhorn is well-known for its courses and ecological, social, and spiritual information sources. There is information on eco-building, renewable energy, organic food production, ecovillage education and much more.
Scoraig - a village accessible only by walking a few miles on a footpath or by privately run boat across the (sea) Little Loch Broom. Not an ‘intentional community’, they are a group of interesting individuals who source their own electricity, water and fuel.
Sustainable Communities Initiatives - built and run an earthship visitor centre in Fife, and lead many workshop in sustainable living and creative waste and much more. We are working together with SCI in creating a zero waste, zero carbon community.
Culdees - a permaculture farm with bunkhouse, and B&B, they are in the process of developing this further with home schooling, alternative medicine, housing cooperative, permaculture, cottage industries and recreation.
Hartwood - a community land trust seeking to discover and teach sustainable, ethical practice restoring justice whilst creating networks of low-impact, resilient, self-governing eco-ark communities.
Talamh Life Centre - a charity in Ayrshire which manages the land around Talamh’s housing cooperative, and is involved in (amongst other things): education and training in relation to the natural environment, traditional craft skills, sustainability, arts and music, and organic food production
Tombreck - With 14 people living at the farm on Loch Tay, Tombreck works as a farm, and aims to diversify into other activities so as to include other people, and to provide housing and employment at a sustainable level"
